Syringe exchanges are often urban affairs. We're different. Yes, our local exchange, Tacoma Needle Exchange (TNE), has three mobile sites in Tacoma, WA. However, our mission at TNE is to serve all of Pierce County. In the early 90's we started delivering syringes and other harm-reduction supplies to the county's rural areas. With the spike in overdoses in the last few years, our service to rural Pierce County is more important than ever. Tacoma News Tribune profiles one of our delivery drivers in an article that shows how our efforts are keeping people alive.
